Cosmopolitan Will Be Treated Like A Porn Magazine

Yes…you read that right.  Cosmopolitan will get the same treatment as a porn magazine in many stores across America.  So what does this mean exactly?   Simply put, one of the most celebrated magazines in pop culture will be pushed to the back of the shelves and out of public site.   According to WWD, The National Center on Sexual Exploitation (NCSE), has seen to it that the magazine is sold behind blinders because of the x-rated cover content.  In earlier reports from WWD, the group has stores that are owned by Rite Aid and Delhaize America on board.  Several supermarkets have also agreed to keep the magazine covered.

Hearst recently said the following: “Cosmopolitan is the most successful global media brand for young women, publishing 60 editions in 79 countries and 32 languages. Its award-winning content is produced for adults by leading female journalists. We are proud of all that the brand has achieved for women around the world in the areas of health, relationships, career, politics, equality, and social issues.”
