& the tickets are on sale NOW!

Givenchy will make its Fashion Week Debut on September 11th thanks to creative director Riccardo Tisci.  The show will go hand in hand with the opening of the house’s latest flagship store located on Madison Avenue in New York City.  But what Tisci decided to do with this show sets him a part from all other designers showcasing their SS16 collection in just a few weeks.  The designer has opened the show to general public offering free tickets for fans and fashion students on a first-come, first served basis.

According to WWD, Givenchy is allotting 1,200 tickets for spectators, and is working with the City of New York to distribute them online beginning Wednesday, Sept. 2 at 10 a.m at The label has set aside 280 of those passes for fashion students and faculty at FIT, Parsons, Pratt Institute and the High School for Fashion Industries. Ticket holders will sit separately from industry members and celebrities, who will be positioned in a raised viewing area. And while the venue for Givenchy’s event will not be announced until closer to the show, the buzz is already beginning to build: Tisci has introduced a dedicated hashtag (#GRTnyc17) to accompany America-themed posts on both his personal and on Givenchy’s social media channels.
