We live in a world where women are still afraid to speak up when it comes to being sexually abused. There are many sad and maddening reasons as to why they keep silent or are forced to, but Evan Rachel Wood wants to let these women know that they are not alone.
The actress and musician has spoken up in a Rolling Stone article about how she has been sexually assaulted because the tendency of her sexual orientation, which is bisexual, has always been overlooked.
“Yes,” she said in Rolling Stone. “I’ve been raped (…) I don’t believe we live in a time where people can stay silent any longer. Not given the state our world is in with its blatant bigotry and sexism.”
