Three Ways To Destress Amidst The Anxiety Of Upcoming Finals

Time to destress before you actually stress.

Finals have been on my mind this past week, and I admit that I’ve been stressing about it during review week. So, I put it on myself to see how I can destress during review week while thinking about finals.

You’re probably thinking that why should you get a candlelit meal when you should be eating take-out because nobody has time to think about treating yourself in the time of finals.

Hear me out.

Candles have a way of relaxing the body and mind, and when you add another favorite counterpart to it–food–what is better than that?

Also, if you’re thinking that some partner of yours is supposed to be the one giving you a candlelit dinner, don’t. You’re the one that’s taking your finals, not your partner. Image result for treat yourself gif

2.) Watch an episode or two of your favorite show.

When I’m down or stressed, I find myself turning on one my favorite comedy shows and having it play in the background while I’m doing some sort of work. Finals week is no different.

The more relaxed your brain is, the more your mind will be able to remember.

So, sit back and relax for a minute or two. If you don’t have time for that, then play it in the background while you’re cooking yourself a meal.

3.) Do your favorite hobby. Image result for hobby

Do your makeup. Play a video game. Put a face mask on. Read one chapter of a book. Play the piano.

Take a break and do something that will keep you relaxed. If you find yourself at a stressed-out point, don’t force yourself to continue studying.

You won’t be able to retain anything that way, trust me.

The more you push yourself when you’re stressed, the more you find yourself losing your pattern of studying.

Finals is stressful, but that doesn’t mean you have to lose your sanity before you even take them!
