Rasheeda On Love & Hip-Hop, The New Book She Hopes To Release This Year, And Reality TV Regrets!!

As the current season of Love & Hip-Hop: NY draws to a close, fans of the franchise are already buzzing about the new season of Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta. Although a trailer hasn’t been released yet, the show and its beloved cast, including my friend in my head Rasheeda, returns to our television screens sometime in March.

On Friday, I got a chance to briefly catch up with Rasheeda about the show’s return. During our chat, we also discussed if she would like to do more acting (she made her acting debut with an appearance on Fox’s Rosewood in 2015), the book she hopes to release sometime this year, and if she has any regrets about doing reality television. Check out highlights below.

ON WHEN THE NEW SEASON OF LOVE & HIP-HOP ATLANTA WILL PREMIERE:

From what I was told, I don’t have an exact date, but I think March it should.

ON IF THERE ARE NEW ADDITIONS TO THE CAST THIS SEASON:

From what I’m told, there are some new cast members. I don’t really know them, but I guess we’ll all see.

ON IF SHE WOULD LIKE TO DO MORE ACTING:

Yes, I would. I’m working on a couple of things, so hopefully this New Year will bring some new roles for me.

ON THE BOOK SHE HOPES TO RELEASE THIS YEAR:

I’ll give you a little bit of insight on just, you know, life. My journey, my business, being a mom, trying to juggle it, finding balance, being on reality TV, being in a seventeen-plus year marriage and just all the things that come along with that. Just like a guide to trying to figure it out.

ON IF SHE HAS ANY REGRETS ABOUT DOING REALITY TV:

I don’t have a regret in it. With anything, especially something that has become as big as ‘Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta’, you’re going to have your pros and cons, and your ups and downs, and you gotta take the BS with the…you gotta take the good with the bad. But I feel like I have been one of the ones to be able to make it work for me, and it’s been a super blessing for me. Even though I hate dealing with some of the BS, it is what it is.

‘The SCOOP’ On Savon Luxe Hair Extensions And Essentials: A Product Review!!

If you’re a regular reader of this column, then you know how much I love a good wig or weave. To ensure I’m not out here looking like I bought bundles from Walmart (yes, Walmart sells hair now), I’m always on the hunt for the best hair extensions and products. Recently and through the beauty of social media, that search brought me to Savon Luxe Hair!!

Established in May 2014, Savon Luxe is a supplier of luxurious 100% virgin hair extensions that caters to women of all ethnicities. According to their website, Savon Luxe specializes in exclusive textures that last a minimum of 2 years, and as long as 5 years with proper care, so I had high expectations when I received my four bundles of their Straight Bless and a closure.

When I first received my package, I did what I call the “tug” test – I gently tugged on the hair in each bundle to see if any came out the wefts. A few strands here and there is to be expected, but if several strands come out, that’s a bad sign. With Savon Luxe hair, very few strands came out.

My hair stylist, London Free of Luxur Hair Salon in Harlem, made a custom wig for me using my Savon Luxe hair. He gave it positive reviews, but noted that the wefts were a little thick (thick wefts make securing the ends of each track onto the wig cap a somewhat difficult process, but it’s not a deal breaker). He loved the texture and luster, and raved about the beauty of the hair once the wig was complete and the hair was straightened with a flat iron. It was even a hit on Instagram – London received multiple compliments and offers to buy the wig after posting pictures of it on his page (@hairbylondonfree).

I was happy with how the wig turned out, and I plan on using the Savon Luxe products to maintain it.  I will have to do a part two of this review in the next edition of “The SCOOP” once I see how well the hair does after it’s been exposed to the elements and how effective the Savon Luxe products, including the Savon Luxe Hair Essentials Silk Essence Shampoo, Glow Up Mist, and Perfecting Polish, are with maintaining the hair’s quality. In the meantime, for more information on Savon Luxe Hair and to order your own Savon Luxe products, be sure to visit their website at Savonluxe.co.
