Selena Gomez: Slicked Back Hair

Last week, Hung Vanngo posted a picture of Selena Gomez with wet slicked back hair. The hair stylist was Gregory Kaoua, he’s known for styling her hair for Pantene commercials. As of now, it has reached over 70,000 likes, and it’s obvious why.

Selena’s slicked back hair was styled with a beautiful dark smokey eye, and a peachy nude lip. But the hair is what adds the extra touch of elegance. Want to learn how to recreate her hair style? Here are some tips we have to help you achieve this gorgeous look!

Step 1: The Prep

Start this hairdo off with wet or dry hair. It mostly depends on how your natural hair is. Naturally straight haired beauties will have no issue starting with wet hair. More on the curly/wavy side? Try blow drying your hair straight first! Use a straightener if blow drying isn’t your thing.

Once that’s done, separate hair from the front to the crown. This will be the part that’s slicked back, so comb it back and make sure it’s placed where you like.

Step 2: The Slick

When the section is ready, take some hairspray and go to town with it. Make sure to keep the hair placed where you want it, and comb through after a couple of sprays to perfect it. Remember, focus the hairspray only on that center section.

Step 3: Finishing Touches

While the hairspray dries, gently smooth back any baby hairs or fly-aways with your hand. Then all that’s left to do is arrange the hair on the sides. Selena kept it mostly straight, with a slight upward curve towards the end.¬†This can be achieved by using a curling wand on the ends.

Step 4: Slicked Back Hair

Also, if you have baby hairs that frame your forehead like Selena, try this trick. Take an old toothbrush, spray it with some hairspray, and comb the baby hairs down. In addition to that, you can swoop them to the sides, which is what it appears was done to Selena’s hair. Finally you’ve completed the whole look!
